One-Day Workshop

A 3-hour starter session for computer confidence, files and folders, and a first look at HTML.

Goal

Help students feel comfortable navigating a computer and understanding how web pages begin.

Structure

Hands-on guided instruction with demonstrations, practice time, and a simple starter project.

Duration

3 hours, typically 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Weekend options are available.

Cost

$75 per student. All materials are included.

What students build toward

This workshop gives students the first building blocks: how to manage project files, how folders work, and how a few lines of HTML can become something visible on a screen.

Target skills

  • Computer navigation, mouse control, browser basics, and saving work.
  • Creating, naming, organizing, and finding folders and files.
  • Understanding basic HTML tags and how web pages are structured.
  • Introductory safe AI habits: ask clearly, read carefully, and verify what the tool gives back.

Four-Week Series

A deeper weekly series where students learn HTML, simple JavaScript, game planning, and AI-assisted asset creation.

Goal

Move students from basic computer confidence into simple coding, game ideas, and AI-supported creative planning.

Structure

Once-a-week guided sessions with project milestones, practice time, and hands-on building.

Duration

4 weeks, typically once weekly from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Example: Wednesdays.

Cost

$375 per student. All materials are included.

What students build toward

Students begin turning an idea into a playable direction. They plan a basic game, learn how HTML and simple JavaScript work together, and start creating visual elements, characters, or game assets with AI guidance.

  • Project organization and file management.
  • HTML structure and simple page editing.
  • Simple JavaScript concepts such as buttons, scoring, movement, and interaction.
  • Game planning: objective, rules, characters, levels, and player feedback.
  • AI prompting for images, ideas, instructions, and safe creative support.

The complete game-building path from computer basics to a finished project in the Mooresville Codebreakers Arcade.

Goal

Guide students through the full creator journey: plan, code, design, test, improve, present, and publish.

Structure

Weekly guided sessions with demonstrations, build time, milestones, debugging, polish, and final presentation.

Duration

7 weeks, once weekly from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Cost

$500 per student. All materials are included.

What students build toward

Students build a complete playable game with AI assistance, then present it to family and upload it to the Mooresville Codebreakers Arcade where it can be safely shared with family and friends.

  • Computer basics, file management, project organization, and web publishing concepts.
  • HTML, CSS, and simple JavaScript through a game-building lens.
  • Safe AI use for ideas, images, copy, troubleshooting, and creative iteration.

A safe showcase area where kids can play and share arcade-style games built by young creators.

Goal

Give students a safe place to experience the pride of seeing their own work live online.

Structure

Finished projects are reviewed and uploaded to the Mooresville Codebreakers Arcade area.

Access

Games can be shared with family and friends through a hosted link.

Focus

Fun arcade-style projects that reinforce math, reading, science, logic, and creativity.

Kids get a different kind of confidence when something they built becomes real. The secure arcade gives students a kid-friendly showcase for finished projects while keeping the environment focused on learning, creativity, and family-safe sharing.
