Mooresville CodebreakersAcademy
A hands-on, local enrichment program where kids learn computer basics, safe AI use, prompt engineering, and creative game design - then publish their own playable HTML game on a private domain they can share with family and friends.
Build a game. Learn the future.
Students use kid-friendly examples to understand how AI can help them plan, code, test, improve, and explain their own creative ideas.
Not just screen time. Skill-building creative time.
Mooresville Codebreakers Academy is a 7-week enrichment program built around one exciting outcome: each student learns how to create, improve, publish, and present a simple game using AI responsibly.
Computer Confidence
Students practice the basics: files, folders, browsers, typing, mouse control, saving work, and understanding how computer platforms behave.
Safe AI Use
We teach AI as a tool, not a magic answer machine. Kids learn how to ask better questions, check results, and use adult-supervised tools responsibly.
Prompt + Context Skills
Students learn how to describe what they want, give useful context, test ideas, and revise prompts so their projects improve step by step.
Inspired by a local Mooresville family's journey
This program was inspired by our own experience teaching our children and their friends how to understand computers, think creatively, and use AI safely and responsibly in today's fast-moving digital world.
Our family is active in Mooresville, local church/community groups, and Mooresville Intermediate School activities.
Program leadership includes an approved MIS volunteer with extensive background checks through scouting and the Mooresville school system.
BLUERAVENstudios has operated for over 15 years, with over 20 years of experience helping students apply creative and technical skills in real-world environments.
The program grows out of real-world projects developed using tools like Gemini, ChatGPT, Google AI Studio, and Codex, adapted into a structured, positive learning experience for kids.
What students will learn
The goal is not to rush kids into professional programming. The goal is to help them understand how to think, build, test, and create with AI safely over a steady 7-week journey.
What We Learn
- Computer basics, files, folders, browsers, and project organization
- Safe AI use, critical thinking, and checking AI output
- Prompt engineering and giving useful context
- Game planning, characters, rules, levels, scoring, and player feedback
- HTML/CSS/JavaScript basics through guided game examples
- Testing, debugging, improving, and explaining design choices
- Publishing a finished game online for family and friends to play
The final outcome
Students work toward a simple playable game they can explain proudly. They will learn that creating with AI is not about copying - it is about communicating clearly, thinking critically, testing ideas, and improving through guided iteration.

These are the kinds of projects that inspired the program. Chris and Oliver built a portal of simple, fun, HTML-based games that will be used as examples and inspiration for students.
Meet the Program Creator
Experienced. Local. Focused on helping students turn creativity into real-world skills.
Christopher Hooper
Christopher Hooper is the founder of BLUERAVENstudios and the creator of Mooresville Codebreakers Academy. Through BLUERAVENstudios, Christopher has built a collaboration-driven creative technology studio that works with students, families, schools, community groups, and local organizations to help young aspiring digital media creators and developers build real-world skills.
For more than 20 years, Christopher has worked at the intersection of digital media, interactive technology, visual production, business applications, and creative education. His early mentorship work in South Florida helped introduce motivated students to computer-aided graphic arts, digital production, and the practical business uses of creative technology. Many of the young creatives he has worked with have gone on to build successful careers in digital media, visual effects, production, design, and related creative industries.
Christopher’s approach is rooted in collaboration, mentorship, and hands-on problem-solving. As a father of three sons, he has spent years coaching his own children in computer fundamentals, productivity tools, critical thinking, iterative learning, video and audio production, digital media management, and safe, responsible AI use. That same practical, patient, project-based approach informs the way BLUERAVENstudios connects with young creators today.
As an approved Mooresville Intermediate School volunteer with background checks through both scouting and the Mooresville school system, Christopher brings a strong foundation of trust, safety, and local community involvement.
His goal is not simply to teach software. His goal is to help students become confident, capable, creative problem-solvers who understand how to use technology thoughtfully, responsibly, and imaginatively in the real world.

Small groups
Ideal for approximately 4-5 students per session so each child can receive hands-on guidance.
7-week format
A focused enrichment experience with enough time for learning, building, breaks, testing, and creative play.
Clear finish line
Students leave with a better understanding of AI, computers, and how games are created step by step.
